1 Introduction

This guide focuses on the full functionality of receipt printing in the POS system. It outlines processes for configuring receipt templates, printing various types of receipts, and customizing fields. With clear and simple steps, it helps you understand different receipt printing standards to meet restaurant, kitchen, and customer needs.

2 Basics of Receipt Printing

2.1 Key Receipt Types and Uses

Hold Ticket

Placed on the table for dish and service status verification.

Membership recharge/purchase ticket

After member recharge/purchase

Acts as a record for member account balance and points changes.

Delivery Customer Union / Payment receipt (Pickup)

After Delivery/self-pickup order settlement

Serves as proof of order, includes the address and pickup number.

Refund Ticket

When order is refunded/partially refunded

Kitchen ticket (Delivery)/Void ticket

2.2 Common Field Descriptions

All receipts include basic fields by default, with options to customize:

  • Core Identifiers: Order ID, transaction number, table/pickup number, store name.
  • Basic Info: Number of people, order type (dine-in/Delivery/self-pickup), order source (e.g., app/POS).
  • Operation Info: Operator, print time, order time.
  • Notes: General order notes (e.g., “mild, no cilantro”), dish-specific notes (e.g., “less salt, extra vinegar”).

4 Accessing Configuration

  • Log in to the POS system, go to【Settings】→【Receipt Template Management】
  • Select the desired receipt type (e.g., “Start dishes Ticket”, “Urge dishes Ticket”) to enter the template editing page.

4.1 Core Configuration Features

4.1.1 Customizing Fields

  • Add Fields:

    • In the dish info area, add “Dish Status” (Urge dishes/hold, etc.), “Discounted Price”, “Count Specification” (e.g., pieces/servings), and “Seat Number” (for fine dining).
    • In the basic info area, add “Pre-order Flag”, “Delivery Pickup Barcode”, “Backup Info” (e.g., “Sent to Backup, Original Department: X”).
  • Edit Fields:

    • Modify default content (e.g., change “Service Area” default from “Main Hall” to “Zone A”).
    • Automatic translation for all fields, no need for separate language templates.
  • Hide unnecessary fields to save space (e.g., non-preorder fields).

4.1.2 Adjusting Template Layout

  • Field Sorting:

    • Use【Move Up/Down】buttons or drag fields to reorder.
    • Allow two fields per line (e.g., “Table Number” and “Number of People”), with alignment options.
  • Format Optimization:

    • Insert lines or blank spaces to separate info areas (e.g., between dish and note areas).
    • Add custom text (e.g., “For invoices, please contact the cashier”).
  • Grouping (Multiple-Dish Orders):

    • Group by “Department”, “Pocket”, “Packaging”, “Serving Order”.
    • Show group name and total amount, aiding kitchen staff in preparation.

5 Printing Processes for Different Receipts

5.1 Kitchen Tickets (Kitchen/Fire/Rush Order Tickets)

5.1.1 Kitchen Order Ticket Printing

  • Process:

    1. Trigger automatically after order confirmation, or manually click【Print Kitchen Order Ticket】
    2. Single Dish: Each dish gets an individual ticket, showing its status, taste, and specs, ideal for complex dishes.
    3. Multiple Dishes: Combine dishes on one ticket, grouped by department for simple dishes.
  • Special Configurations:

    • Dish Barcode: Add【Dish Barcode】for marking off items.
    • Verification Code: Generate a scannable “Verification Code” (in barcode format) to easily confirm dish preparation.
    • When switching to a backup dish, the “Backup Printing Information” must be displayed to instruct the kitchen to redirect the order.

5.1.2 Urge dishes/Pending order Ticket Printing

  • Urge dishes Ticket:

    • Entry: Click【Urge dishes】in order details, select target dishes.
    • Receipt Displays: Dish name, table number, expedite count, operation time.
  • Pending Order Ticket:

    • Entry: Click【Pending Order】in order details, select dishes.
    • Receipt Displays: Dish name, table number, optional pending reason.

5.2 Customer Receipts (Table/Delivery/Pickup Receipts)

5.2.1 Table Receipt Printing

  • Entry: After ordering, click【Print Customer Order Ticket】
  • Content: Includes table number, dish list, membership info if any, and order notes.

5.2.2 Delivery/Pickup Receipt Printing

  • Delivery Customer Copy:

    • Trigger: Automatically prints after order settlement.
    • Fields: Customer name, address, phone number, pickup number, delivery method, and dish list.
  • Self-Pickup Receipt:

    • Trigger: Manual/automatic print after settlement.
    • Fields: Customer name, phone number, pickup number, dish list, and notes.

5.3 Membership/Refund Receipts

5.3.1 Membership recharge/purchase ticket

  • Trigger: After member credit/consumption, system prompts for printing.
  • Fields:
    • Recharge Slip: Card number, name, credit amount, bonus value/points, pre/post-transaction value.
    • Purchase Slip: Card number, name, spend amount, value/points change, transaction ID.
    • Special Feature: Print the invoice QR code for easy invoice generation.

5.3.2 Refund Receipt Printing

  • Entry: After confirming order refund/partial refund, click【Print Refund Receipt】
  • Fields: Order ID, refund amount, method (cash/credit, etc.), reason, operator, print time.

Note:

Multiple refunds can be displayed on separate lines, with each amount and payment method clearly labeled.

  1. Issue: Incomplete Field Display
  • Solution:
    • Check if “Two Fields Per Line” is enabled, adjust field width
    • Hide unnecessary fields
    • Adjust font size for clarity
  1. Issue: Kitchen Didn’t Receive the Kitchen Order Ticket
  • Solution:
    • Ensure the printer is powered and connected
    • Check if the “Kitchen Order Ticket” auto-print rule is set
    • Manually reprint and verify printer port settings
  1. Issue: Missing Dish Notes
  • Solution:
    • Check if the【Dish Notes】field is enabled in the template
    • Ensure notes are correctly entered during ordering
    • Save the template and reprint for testing
  1. Issue: Missing Points Change on Member Receipts
  • Solution:
    • In the “Membership Credit/Consumption Slip” template, ensure “Pre-Transaction Points”/“Post-Transaction Points” fields are added
    • Verify if transaction triggered points change
    • Reconfigure and save the template.
  1. Issue: Missing Pickup Barcode on Delivery Receipts
  • Solution:
    • Add “Delivery Pickup Barcode” field in the “Delivery Customer Copy” template
    • Ensure the pickup number is generated correctly
    • Reprint receipt to display barcode
