Order on POS

(For Cashiers / Store Staff)

1 Introduction

This manual will help you quickly master the POS ordering system. It guides you through core operations — from basic ordering and meal customisation to handling specific scenarios — and clearly explains the differences between quick-service and full-service restaurant modes.

2 Core Concepts: Quick-Service vs. Full-Service

Q: What are the three basic service types I need to know?

A: The system supports three core types: Dine-in, Takeout, and Pickup.

Where do I set this? You can easily switch between them when creating an order.

What's the benefit? The system automatically adapts features based on your choice. For example, selecting "Takeout" will automatically calculate packaging fees.

Q: What are the ways customers can place orders, and is it complicated?

A: There are multiple ordering channels, such as:

You take the order manually on the POS

Customers scan a code to add items to their cart

You process phone orders

Managing customer pre-orders

Orders from self-service kiosks

The good news is: The ordering logic is consistent across all channels. You only need to learn it once. The only difference is where you access them.

Q: What are the two main modes I'll use daily, and what's the core difference?

A: They are Quick-Service and Full-Service.

Quick-Service: Focus on speed. No table management. Order and pay immediately.

Full-Service: Focus on experience. Start by opening a table, managing dish status (e.g., hold, rush), and paying later.

Q: Which mode should I use, Quick-Service or Full-Service?

A: It depends on the service flow you need:

Quick-Service: When you need the fastest transaction. The flow is "Quick Order → Payment → Checkout" and involves no table management.

Full-Service: When you need to provide a full dining experience. The flow is "Open Table → Order → Manage Dish Status (e.g., Hold/Start/Urgent Dish) → Checkout". It's more detailed and gives you better control over the kitchen flow.

3 Core Ordering Workflows

3.1 Quick-Service: How do I complete an order quickly?

  • Step 1: Start: After logging in, select【Quick-Service Mode】directly.

  • Step 2: Select Type: Default is Dine-in. Need to change to Takeout or Pickup? The system will prompt you for an address or pick up number.

  • Step 3: Add Items:

    • Tap to Add: Click on menu items. If there are options (e.g., Large/Medium/Small), a pop-up will ask for your selection.
    • Scan to Cart: Scan the item’s barcode to add it quickly.
    • Quick PLU Entry: Know the item code? Just type it in.
  • Step 4: Customize: Select item → Tap【Modify】 → Choose flavors or adjustments

  • Step 5: Checkout: Tap【Pay】 → Select payment method (Cash, Card, Scan)→ Receipt prints automatically

💡

Notes:

Fast food does not support pre-ordering, waiting, or calling functions; orders are directly placed and served.

Supports packaging; select the item and click【Package】, the system calculates packaging fees automatically (per item configuration).

3.2 Full-Service: How do I manage the full experience of a table?

  • Step 1: Open Table: Go to【Table Management】, select the area and table. Enter the guest count, click 【Open Table】.

    • Q: What if customers want to combine tables?
    • A: Use the 【Combine Tables】 feature to link multiple tables.
  • Step 2: Ordering: You’ll enter the ordering screen automatically. Use all methods to add items.

    • Handling Special Items:
      • Weight-Based Items: You need to manually enter the weight to calculate the price.
      • Market-Price Items: A pop-up will ask you to enter the current price.
      • Hot Pot Soup Base: You need to select the pot type (e.g., Single, Dual) and flavors.
  • Step 3: Manage Kitchen Instructions: This is the core of Full-Service mode.

    • Hold: The party isn’t all here yet? Select items, click【Hold】, and the kitchen won’t start them.
    • Start Dish: The party is all here and ready for the held items? Click【Start】 to notify the kitchen.
    • Urge Dishes: A dish takes too long? Click【Urge Dishes】 to send a priority reminder to the kitchen.
    • Pending Order: For sent dishes needing pause, click【Pending Order】check dishes, and the kitchen pauses preparation.
  • Handle Special Requests:

    • Items Transfer: Was a dish sent to the wrong table? Use【Transfer Dish】 to move it to the correct table.
    • Present/Adjust: Select a dish, click【Present】and choose a reason (e.g., “Customer Complaint”), or click【Adjust Price】to enter a new price (requires permission)
    • No Prep: For dishes already served but needed again, click【Reorder】, check target dishes, kitchen records the order without printing
  • Checkout: Click【Checkout】

    • You can process combined payments for linked tables.
    • Partial payments are supported.
    • After successful payment, print the receipt and remember to click【Close Table】 to free up the table.
💡

Notes:

Formal dining orders can be temporarily stored (suspended), with subsequent submission for continued operation.

Hold, Start Dish and Urge Dishes functions only support unsent/sent but not served dishes.

After linking/combining tables, dishes can be transferred across tables, and bills support separate or combined payments.
